ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Maze Couture is a London based fashion designer who has the expertise and understanding of designing clothes, which reflect classic style, transforming the wearer to look effortlessly stylish and timeless.
"Fashion is my passion."
The Beginning-
The Beginning-
As a child he grew up at a time when it is customary for children to aspire to become doctors, lawyers, engineers and the like. But he knew since those formative years that he wanted to be in business, and preferably fashion business. As a little boy he was always different from other kids. He always wanted to dress himself up and always made his own accessories. While the other kids were concentrating on mathematics, English and Sciences, he could tell you the name of every designer, their label and fashion out there then.
Maze went on to study Civil Engineering and graduated from Greenwich University, UK. He started climbing steps of the fashion ladder, like many, by creating many designs for friends and family, working at the back room of high end luxury fashion brands, which is where he acquired his true taste and hunger for making it big in the fashion industry.

With a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts, MAZE went on to launch his own label Maze Couture (twenty10) collection in 2009.
The label is based on being able to offer its customers limited edition pieces which generally do not conform to short-lived fashion trends, preferring to offer pieces which will remain classical, highlight his client’s needs and above all fit the body as if the garments were made especially for the individual, although that is not far from the truth, as bespoke tailoring is also Maze Couture forte.
What inspired you to start M.A.Z.E C.O.U.T.U.R.E?
I am extremely a fashion conscious person and love to experiment with clothes.
Following great demands for my designs in the UK, US and in Nigeria and since it has always been my dream to do designs that are classy, and above all unique. i delved into fashion designing and hence created my own label.
How has the journey been so far with you in the industry?
Like most businesses, mine is just 2 years old. It has had its ups and downs but in all, I am grateful for the response it has received so far from my clients, knowing it only gets better as the awareness grows.
Has M.A.Z.E evolved to meet the demands of today’s true fashionistas?
Yes I should think so, as maze couture’s designs are on point, fresh, edgy, unique, classy and most of all versatile.
Its uniqueness I should say, it’s just different from our everyday clothes.
What challenges do you face in the fashion industry?
My greatest challenge is financial assistance.
The cost of running a label is enormous.
What will you say have been your greatest achievements?
What is your approach to fashion?
Fashion is a functional art. Not that all art isn't functional in some way, but it's art you can actually touch and feel and interact with and not be afraid to wear. In a way, it's sort of like music--it's a part of our daily life, something we can't live without, something we all interact with and so should be something we really love. I mean, our bodies are the most interesting elements; everyone does art about himself or herself. With clothing, mine anyway, it's the same thing but you get to wear it and interact with it on a daily basis and get all this feedback and reactions out of people and their thoughts on what you're doing. Which, of course, at times can be tiring but for the most part, you accept it and it's interesting. Above all, I just really believe that the right clothing and color can make you feel better about yourself and can give you more confidence.

What should be the NEXT step for M.A.Z.E C.O.U.T.U.R.E?
I want to grow the business into something more solid, something sustainable that would continuously allow me to produce the work I believe in.
Where do you see your business in the next 5 years?
I hope to see Maze Couture in departmental stores all around the world.
You are so passionate about your work. Is this a reflection of your personality?
Yes, I have always been a very serious person, because I believe in getting the best results out of anything I do and also being the best. I also believe that having passion for whatever we do as humans brings out the best in us.
Based on your experiences, what advice would you offer to someone starting out in business?
They should go deep inside themselves and find what they really love to do. If you do things from your heart you can make things happen. You can change the world because you have the power and the power comes from within you. They say that if you work hard even a rusted rod can become a fine needle.

Love what you do
