About the designer
Olatide (Tide) Adeniyi was born in Washington D.C where she spent most of her childhood. She moved to Lagos, Nigeria during her teenage years and acquired a passion for the arts. She has always had a huge appreciation for music, dance and fashion but only as an enthusiast.
Her inspiration for Fashion Design came in 2007 as a sporadic thought to make her own dress for an event because she could not find a dress that had the perfect fit. The idea seemed laughable to her at the time as she had no prior design or sewing experience, until she purchased her first sewing machine and began bringing her first sketch to life. The garment was a success so she began designing and sewing as a hobby making it apparent that this should be her next business venture.
About Editalo
When thinking of name for this venture, Tide wanted a name that indirectly correlated her. She named her enterprise Editalo which is her full name backwards.
The Editalo fashion line was launched in July 2009 during the Editalo presents BLOOM Fashion show. The Show’s title Bloom was a tribute to the models, performers, productions crew and the designer herself as upcoming entrepreneurs and professionals in the world of entertainment, music and fashion. Bloom was also inspired by Editalo’s 2010 debut collection as it contained floral prints and floral inspired silhouettes in all 3 collections exhibited.
The line ranges from ready to wear day and evening dress to custom couture gowns. It appeals to ladies with a subtle yet glamorous fashion sense who appreciate the small details in garments. Editalo’s collection also pays tribute to the designer’s heritage (Nigeria) by incorporating African fabrics with her western inspired designs.
As a friend to this lovely designer... Ms.Adigzy can proudly say Editalo is the Designer for the future...
